Digital medical records are no longer fictitious for the Cuban health care system, that is why it is essential to debate about the policies and legal dispositions for its implementation, also about the medical information for medical resources planning, and the availability, confidentiality, security and protection of medical data.
That is what will be done in the First International Workshop on Digital Medical Records, which is one of the novelties of the 17th International Convention and Fair Informatica 2018, that will begin on March 19th, and is regarded as one of the main events related to the ICTs in Cuba.
In the context of the Informatization of the island, there two aspects inside this event that could be really interesting; the ITU Regional Event, and the presence of a prestigious Japanese professor that will exhibit a robot with characteristics that are very similar to human ones.
The meeting, that features the motto ''For a sustainable development'', will gather Cuban and international experts until March 23, and it will also be the host for companies and enterprises that are focused on the development and application of the new technologies. This event will be a platform for several foreign delegates to present some of their companies and governments experiences and results in the technology sector, informed Cecilia Valdes, Deputy Director of the Institutional Communication Directorate of the Cuban Ministry of Communications (MINCOM).
In the mornings the academic part will take place, and in the afternoons, the launch of products and services, and commercial presentations, she highlighted.
As fundamental objectives, the Exhibition Fair will present the possibilities and applications in projects, equipment and systems in the universe of ICT and telecommunications, developed by Cuban and international companies and institutions.

As in previous years, the Island reaffirms the independence and technological sovereignty as fundamental elements of the development of national solutions for the computerization of society, Héctor Rodríguez Figueredo, president of the Fair's jury, told Granma.
Therefore, the Cuba Stand will be promoting the 23 winning solutions of the ICT Panorama contest, which has as a novelty the presence of two projects of non-state workers, said the specialist.
More than 40 exhibiting companies from eight countries will be present at the Fair. Of these, the Asian giant stands out with four entities: Huawei Technologies, Haier, China Potevio and Fiber Home. There will also be companies from Spain, Italy, Japan and Panama.
On the Cuban side, all the companies belonging to the Computer and Communications Group will participate, as well as three universities and the Central Bank of Cuba, among others.
As a space for socialization, the Fair will also host a Forum for entrepreneurs, researchers and innovators, universities and production centers, large, medium and small businesses to identify opportunities and allies for technological development and commercial exchange, said Rodríguez Figueredo.
Likewise, a round of business will be developed between Cuban and foreign companies and institutions for the materialization of contracts, agreements and letter of intent.
Within the Fair, a jury also meets to select the most relevant works of all the exhibiting companies in the categories of networks, telecommunications and infrastructure; cybersecurity; software and computer solutions, and stand design, in the case of the latter, the modular or free-design stand will be rewarded, explained Rodríguez Figueredo.
