
The director of the Informatics and Communications enterprise group (GEIC), Grisel Reyes Leon, informed in a press conference that this biannual meeting is aimed to promote the knowledge exchange and also to foster good practices in the field of informatization at a national and international level.
"This is the largest event that brings together the largest number of professionals linked to the sector. The ICTs are cross-cutting technologies and with these characteristics are present as soon as an international or national event takes place in the country. "
Reyes León also commented that this event generates a meeting where professionals who are in different functions, whether in the business or institutional sector, in the academy or the government, exchange experiences or knowledge, present new technologies, show how these technologies apply in practical examples, they also exchange on good practices and talk about the ethics that should be present in the development of technologies and the legal framework that supports the same innovations.
The Organizing Committee President of the Exhibition Fair also commented that they hope this event can contribute to generating greater technological independence out of knowledge, and the adaptation of these innovations to the national context.
The Convention also plans to open the Exphibition Fair on Tuesday, March 20 at PABEXPO fairgrounds.
"In the exhibition part there will be samples of the products, services, applications and solutions of 42 Cuban companies and 12 foreign companies from eight participating countries. Furthermore, in the expository part, we will also have the opportunity, as in previous years, of highlighting or signifying 24 projects or solutions developed by national entities that, because of their economic or social impact, the integration and the results achieved, have been selected from the competition "Panorama of ICT in Cuba" that took place prior to the event. "
