Informática 2018: The Impact of Informatization on Education

The delegates and guests of the International Congress of Informatics in Education, INFOREDU 2018, will learn about the positive impact of the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on the development of the educational sector in Cuba.

This event is part of the 17th International Convention and Fair Informatica 2018, which is goin to be inaugurated today at the International Conference Center in Havana.

In this regard, Cecilia Valdés, Deputy Director of Institutional Communication of the Ministry of Communications (Mincom), told the ACN that INFOREDU will also talk about the so-called cloud education, mobile learning and virtual communities in the teaching-learning process.

This congress will allow the exchange on the digital measurement of teaching, the creation of virtual classrooms, as well as the contribution of new technologies to this process, she explained.

Among the impacts of ICT, she emphasized, the importance of the production of educational software and multimedia, videogames and other contents for increasing of the learning process quality, will be discussed.

The event will also be an appropriate space to expose the development of aspects such as the use of virtual libraries, the repositories of open educational resources, and the publication of academic content in digital format, assured Valdés.

Sponsored by the Mincom and the Cuban Informatics Union, the 17th International Convention and Fair Informatica 2018 has 13 collateral events divided in conferences, workshops, congresses, seminars and symposiums.

PABEXPO fairgrounds will open its doors from tomorrow until Friday the 23rd with an exhibition of projects and software solutions, and there will also take place the Business Forum, a space designed for the presentation of Information and Communication Technologies.
