Dr.C. Ing. Alejandro José Cabrera Sarmiento

Phd in sciences; Professor of the Faculty of Automatic and Biomedical Engineering of the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría (CUJAE), Cuba; Vice Dean of Research and Postgraduate of the Faculty of Automatic and Biomedical Engineering of CUJAE since 2009; Coordinator of the Master in Digital Systems of the CUJAE since 2005; Guest Professor at different universities: University of Seville (Spain), Institute of Technology and Higher Education of Monterrey (Mexico), University of Tlaxcala (Mexico), Polytechnic School of the Coast, ESPOL (Ecuador) and Industrial University of Santander (Colombia) . His main research lines are related to the development of embedded systems based on different platforms, such as microcontrollers, FPGA and FPGA SoC; as well as the acceleration of algorithms on reconfigurable hardware, with applications in image processing, intelligent control and cryptography. In these topics he has developed different international research projects, mainly with the Institute of Microelectronics of Seville and with the University of Seville, as well as published different articles and presented numerous contributions to congresses, in addition to tutoring more than 15 master thesis and four of doctorate. He has received numerous distinctions and decorations for his more than 40 years dedicated to higher education.
