The launch of the 20th International Convention and Fair INFORMÁTICA 2026 took place on the morning of April 17, 2025, in the Protocol Room of the Palco Hotel, in Havana, Cuba.
INFORMÁTICA takes place every two years and fosters exchanges between professionals and business leaders in telecommunications, computer science, information and communications technology, and other related disciplines, both nationally and internationally.

The first edition of INFORMÁTICA was held in Havana in 1988. Each year, the Convention has been distinguished by its current topics and enriching exchanges between professionals and entrepreneurs who contribute to the implementation of solutions for the country's development and the well-being of society. Dr.Sc. Aylin Febles Estrada addressed the main topics that will be the focus of the INFORMÁTICA 2026 Convention.
The business forum, the exhibition of IT products and solutions, and the ICT Panorama in Cuba Contest are among the fair's attractions. Engineer Ariadne Plasencia Castro presented the latest developments at the INFORMÁTICA 2026 Fair.
INFORMÁTICA has become a well-established institution over time. This 20th edition will take place in a context marked by the intensification of the imperialist blockade against Cuba and the implementation of the Digital Transformation Policy, the Cuban Digital Agenda, and the Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence. MSc. Ernesto Rodríguez Hernández delivered the closing remarks.
We enjoyed a cultural moment led by the duo made up of young Adriana Gutiérrez Febles, a first-year student of musical direction and sound, and Giselle Vaillant Sosa, a first-year composition student, from the Higher Institute of Art, who performed the musical pieces "Algo contigo" by the Argentine Chico Novarro and "Contigo en la distancia" by our emblematic César Portillo de la Luz.
