The Special Session of the 4th National Workshop on Radio Spectrum Management will be held within the framework of the 20th International Convention and Fair Informática 2026, at the Havana Conference Center, from March 24 to 27.
It will be a space for technical and strategic dialogue between regulators, operators, and academia, focused on the current and future challenges of spectrum management in our country and the Caribbean region.
What will we cover?
From digital transformation and the rollout of 5G/6G technologies to interoperability in emergency situations, this workshop delves into key topics such as:
1. Implementation of the Resolution on spectrum usage fees.
2. Advances in the online procedures’ platform
3. Cuba's path toward WRC-27.
4. Results of the 5G pilot test done by ETECSA.
5. Non-terrestrial networks and direct-to-device communication (D2D).
6. International notifications and spectrum defense.
7. Critical communication for disasters and SAR systems.
8. New services: Ultra-broadband, massive IoT, private 5G/6G networks.
9. Transition to digital terrestrial television and use of the digital dividend.
10. Implementation of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.
This meeting seeks to harmonize standards, promote best practices, and strengthen our national capacities through the exchange of comparative international experiences.
Cuba is moving forward with a strategic vision toward modern, inclusive, and sovereign management of the radio spectrum, which is key to technological development and regional integration.
