INFO-COMMUNICATION AND DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

Purpose and scope:

Analyzing and discussing the strategic vision and synergies with which the information-communication-technology relationship should be assumed for the strengthening of public management and citizen-centered digital transformation. This space for dialogue aims to deepen and focus, from a critical and multidisciplinary perspective, the main challenges that are visible today in the information society, as a result of the impact of regulatory frameworks, new dynamics of digital communication, social participation, governance (eGob), governmental openness (oGob), and the use of emerging technologies such as IAGen.  


Thematic Lines:

1.    Information-communication and technology relationship in digital agendas
Strategic vision and synergy of information, communication and technological processes for digital transformation.

2.    Information, communication and technology for digital transformation: convergences and challenges from regulatory frameworks
Conceptions, challenges and articulations - in the digital agendas - of the regulatory framework and legal system on issues of computerization, digital transformation, transparency and access to information, personal data protection, open data, communication, AI and emerging technologies.

3.    Digital Participation and Citizenship
The role of digital citizenship in today's society. Digital participation as a pillar for an active and responsible citizenship within the digital transformation and governance.


4.    Digital culture and skills for digital transformation
Challenges of Digital literacy processes. Debates on Media and Information Literacy and the creation of competences in citizenship for a more active and engaged digital participation.


5.  eGob and oGob: Governance and government openness
Exploration of models and best practices of electronic government and open government that promote transparency, citizen participation and collaboration between the State and society through information and communication technologies.

6.    Emerging technologies and digital citizenship
Impact of emerging technologies on citizen participation, digital education, access to information, exercise of digital rights and social welfare. 


7.    Mediations and ethical and social challenges in digital info-communication
Debates on digital gaps, privacy, disinformation, digital inclusion and the guarantee of fundamental rights in connected environments.
This session aims to contribute to the improvement of a conceptual and methodological framework, as well as the targeting of good practices that promote and support research, public policy formulation and new practices for the consolidation of an informed, participatory and committed digital citizenship.
