HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT IN THE ICT SECTOR, WITH A GENDER PERSPECTIVE. WOMEN LEADERS IN ICT
Purpose and scope:
The purpose of the special session is to promote the sustainable inclusion of girls and women in ICT, providing a space for strategic reflection, debate and presentation of achievements, recognizing the role of women in innovation, leadership and the construction of sustainable and inclusive technology, encouraging the sharing of experiences on the gaps that limit their performance, highlighting initiatives such as “Girls in ICT”, in order to promote equity and concrete alliances in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector.
1. Sustainability in talent management with a gender focus
It allows a resilient talent management with a gender perspective is not only ethical, but strategic: it strengthens the adaptive capacity of the organization while building equity. It requires commitment from top management, concrete tools (example, equality certifications) and a culture that values diversity as a driver of change.
2. Impact of the Girls in ICT program
The "Girls in ICT" program promoted by the (ITU), has a significant impact on the promotion of female participation in the field of technology and telecommunications. It has been key to inspiring thousands of girls to study and work in technology, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society. However, it requires continuity and multisectoral support to scale its scope.
3. Inclusion of women in ICT and gender gaps in their performance
Although some progress has been made, the gender gap in ICT remains a structural challenge that requires comprehensive actions from education, business policies and social culture. The full inclusion of women is also a competitive advantage for the technology sector.
