Digital citizenship: Between rights, cognitive certainties and emotional games, Dr. Sc. Ania Rosa Hernández Quintana, Cuba. Proposal for a conference which will take place in the sessions of 8th International Symposium on Community Computing, Local Development and Social Networks, at the International Convention and Fair Informática 2024.

The challenges and opportunities that enable participatory processes beyond territorial centralisms and that are developed in the digital ecosystem through multiple articulations are addressed. The enabling frameworks for increasing digital participation spaces, such as digital literacy, good institutional practices and the monitoring and evaluation of existing digital spaces, are alluded to. The importance of cultural infrastructures to expand pre-existing skills, deepen levels of inclusion and promote capacities to think and rethink participatory processes is argued.

In this edition, the symposium will analyze the ideas and experiences gained from the use of technologies to increase efficiency, economic development, sustainability and the quality of life of citizens and communities. As part of the accelerated digitalization process that cities are facing, the impact of the use of the Internet and social networks in society will also be discussed, with the aim of deepening the different approaches to their responsible and safe use. The event will be attended by national and international experts, who will share their knowledge and success stories on different topics.
