Development of the S-104 and S-111 by the Instituto Hidrográfico de la Marina (IHM)

Abstract:

By virtue of the next change of regulations of the electronic charts from S-44 to S-100, a new regulation and formats for the tide (S-104) and currents (S-111) will be created. For this reason, the Instituto Hidrográfico de la Marina (Hydrographic Institute of the Navy), which belongs to the Spanish Navy and is responsible for the electronic cartography, is developing a tool to provide the data required by the specific regulations. In this presentation, the starting data, the option chosen for its development and the status of the project will be presented. As well as a brief description of the status of the rest of the regulations (S-102, S-129, etc…) related to the generation of cartographic products.
