Informática 2024 will show Cuba’s efforts for a digital society
The scientific event will allow the socialization of results based on research, innovation and collective development, and will make known the work in the use and capabilities provided by Information and Communication Technologies, in the transition to a digital society with the necessary learning of citizens to take advantage of its benefits.
According to the First Vice Minister of Communications, Wilfredo González, some 1,000 delegates from 16 countries will attend the work sessions, where they will learn about the implementation process of public policies related to information and communication technologies developed in the island in recent years.
Several official delegations from India, Iran, Russia, Bolivia, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, a representative of the International Telecommunication Union and other prestigious experts will also attend.
At the opening, the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, Doreen Bogdan-Martin, is expected to send a virtual message to the participants.
The Convention will present innovative and scientific solutions with an impact on Cuba’s social and economic development strategy, in addition to the growth of the Cuban industry of computer applications and services, with notable progress in the creation of software with exportable value.
González, who is also the executive president of the Organizing Committee of Informática 2024, considered that it will be a space for learning because the use of new technologies will be discussed.
It is about artificial intelligence, the management of large volumes of data such as Big Data, the Internet of Things and cybersecurity, as well as being an opportunity for exchange between scientists and entrepreneurs.
The opening day’s program includes a high-level panel on digital transformation, challenges and challenges, while its agenda will be completed with nine scientific events and eight keynote speeches, including one dedicated to the essential challenge of artificial intelligence.
Other significant moments will be the 5th University-Enterprise Workshop on ICT, Governance and digital transformation in the information society and The management of human capital in the ICT sector with a gender approach.
In this edition of Informática 2024, which will run until Friday 22, cybersecurity will have a dedicated day to review the current global landscape and future trends, its role and importance in governance and its management in institutional web portals.
