Fabio Assolini joined Kaspersky's Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT), which is staffed by the best analysts in the industry, in July 2009 to focus primarily on one of the most dynamic countries in Latin America: Brazil. Fabio's responsibilities include the analysis of viruses, cyber-attacks, banking Trojans and other types of malware originating in Brazil and the rest of the region. In particular, he focuses on the investigation and detection of banking Trojans. In November 2012 he was promoted to senior security researcher.
Fabio has been a volunteer member of the security community Linha Defensiva (Defensive Line), a non-governmental organization, since 2006. He is also a member of the Alliance of Security Analysis Professionals (ASAP), a network of NGOs, professionals and individuals dedicated to providing security-related assistance to end users. Fabio has more than ten years of experience as a malware analyst and holds a degree in Computer Science.
