Environmental engineer and PhD in Engineering Sciences, researcher and academic at the School of Civil Engineering of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL). She is Head of the Geomatics Department of the Civil Engineering Institute of the UANL. She belongs to the National System of Researchers (SNI), a governmental organization established in Mexico, where she is a Level 1 Researcher in Area 8 of Engineering and Technology. She has published more than 100 papers in different leading journals, for example, Remote Sensing of Environment, Remote Sensing, Geocarto International and Journal of Maps, 1 edited book, 8 book chapters and 12 theses directed in graduate programs of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT). She has led 17 linkage projects and more than 8 different research projects, all of them applying Earth Observation or Geomatics. She is a leader of EOTEC DevNet in the Americas Community of Practice for the Development of Earth Observation Capabilities and Technologies, and is President of the Latin American Society of Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Systems (SELPER).
