Graduated as "Automatic Control Engineer" at the Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas (UCLV) in 1981. Graduated in Technical Robotics at the Technical University of Brno in the Czech Republic in 1989. He obtained the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences at UCLV in 1994. He is currently Professor at UCLV and researcher at the GeoMIX Agency of the Scientific and Technical Unit GEOCUBA. He directs and participates in several national and international projects, among them, he directs the Automation, Robotics and Perception Group of the UCLV turned into a "Spin-off" focused on Automation for Geoinformatics in articulation with GEOCUBA. The results of his fruitful work have been recognized by the award of the Order "Carlos J. Finlay" in 2015 and three Awards of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba (2007, 2012 and 2015) in topics related to robotics. Since 2020 he is Scientific Coordinator of the National Group for the Development of Robotics in Cuba and Member of the National Commission of Automatics, since 2021.
