Doctor in Geography from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and Master of Sciences in Geoinformation Systems from ITC (University of Twente - The Netherlands). She is a cadastral engineer and Geodesist from the Universidad Distrital “Francisco José de Caldas”. She has been President of the Association of Specialists in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems - SELPER Colombia Chapter for five years and coordinator of the International Relations Commission of the International Board of SELPER. She has also been a professor and researcher at the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas for 22 years. She is part of the NIDE research group of which she was director for 10 years. Her professional development has been oriented to Geographic Information Systems, Spatial Data Infrastructures and geospatial science in general.
