The growing development of the Metaverse completes legal issues within the European legal framework, requiring an in-depth analysis of crucial issues such as personal data protection, copyright law and e-commerce. This report explores the legal implications of the Metaverse by focusing on the particularities of European legislation. In particular, we examine aspects related to the management and protection of personal data in virtual environments, copyright of digital works and the regulations governing e-commerce in this new digital landscape. Through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the scope of new technologies, intellectual property and online commerce regulation into the European legal framework, the report provides a comprehensive overview of the legal risks and opportunities associated with the Metaverse.
