INFORMÁTICA 2024 FAIR RETURNS IN MARCH TO ITS PABEXPO VENUE
For the 19th International Convention and Fair Informática 2024, to be held in Cuba next year, the fair space returns to its traditional venue at the PABEXPO fairgrounds.
From the venue of the 39th Havana International Fair, Fihav 2023, Ariadne Plasencia Castro, president of the IT and Communications Business Group (GEIC), announced that the Informática 2024 Fair will be held from March 19 to 22, “after six years and in a context in which our country is betting on digital transformation, with the participation of all.”
The main purpose of Informática 2024 is to provide a favorable environment for the presentation of new products and services, both national and international, with greater economic and social impact, said Plasencia Castro.
It also seeks to promote innovation and technological development in telecommunications and information and communication technologies; provide opportunities for exchange among economic and professional actors in the sector at the national and international levels; contribute to strengthening the country’s digital ecosystem, promoting cooperation, coordination and collaboration among companies, institutions and organizations in the sector; foster digital inclusion and digital culture; and promote Cuba’s image as a country with export capacity in the development of information and communication technologies, as well as foreign investment opportunities related to the sector.
This edition of the Fair will be open to the participation of entrepreneurs and leaders of Cuban state-owned enterprises who wish to find new clients and the best technological solution for their projects; entrepreneurs, representatives of non-Cuban state-owned enterprises that need to open up to new markets such as the state or export their services; and foreign entrepreneurs who seek to expand their business by conquering new markets, either with new clients or with strategic partners.
The President of GEIC indicated that the fair is primarily a commercial space in which results that can generate alliances, contracts, linkages and other forms of connection between all those who participate and contribute to ICT-oriented management are exhibited.
It also contributes to the updating of professionals in the sector and decision-makers in the field of process computerization and the transformation of organizations through the use of ICTs.
In particular, and as in previous editions, there will be a space called “ICT Panorama in Cuba” in which the applications and solutions that have played a relevant role in the digital transformation and in the contribution of the sector to the development of the country will be shown in a more specific way in the last period.
The results that make up this exhibition come from any of the entities and economic actors of the country that are linked to the development of ICT in Cuba, becoming a space that stimulates creativity and scientific-technical contribution.
On the other hand, and under the coordination of the Union of Cuban Computer Scientists, experiences and results obtained throughout the country will be presented and other spaces will be established for professionals who do not necessarily participate as exhibitors.
Interestingly, the Informática 2024 Fair will take place at the same time as the 3rd International Patria Colloquium and that will be used to showcase, in several events, the latest technological developments in research, innovation and development of ICTs in various fields.
