Incorporation of geospatial technologies in the curricula of higher education academic programs in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Abstract:
Considering that geographic information management in recent years has increased its role in solving the challenges posed in the Sustainable Development Goals, and that geospatial technologies offer tools to achieve an adequate and accessible use of spatial information, academic programs are required to review their curricula in order to incorporate new geotechnological tools that allow future professionals to acquire the skills required to address and solve the problems and needs of both urban and rural communities. In this context, a proposal for the modernization of the curricula of the programs related to geospatial technologies is presented.
